The Delavan-Grider Farmers Market aims to make healthy food more accessible by bringing fresh fruits and vegetables to the neighborhood. This event is supported by Keybank, Buffalo GoGreen, Providence Farms, and the Delavan-Grider Community Center. This year, the market will take place weekly from May 28th to October 30th.
Additionally, those who sign up on site for the Double Up Food Bucks program will receive a $10 food voucher to the market courtesy of KeyBank.

National Night Out
About the Event:
National Night Out is a countrywide annual event that promotes safety and trust by bridging the gap between communities and the police that serve in their neighborhoods. This year’s Kickoff event will take place at Niagara Square, where Mayor Scanlon will provide a public safety update. Other celebrations, featuring food, games, music and more, will be hosted during the week by block clubs at various locations, and culminate on August 4th.

Putting the Neighbor Back in the Hood
About the Event:
Putting The Neighbor Back in the Hood is an initiative that began in 1996 in Buffalo, led by Masjid Nu’Man. What began as an effort to beautify the Fillmore Avenue area has now grown into a city-wide effort to promote neighborly deeds, bring people together, and celebrate good neighbors. This year, the lineup for the parade will be at C. District Police Station on Fillmore starting at 10am. The parade walk will begin promptly at 11am and will end at MLK Park.

The NAACP Environmental and Climate Justice (ECJ) Committee monthly meetings serve as a strategic hub for addressing the disproportionate impact of environmental hazards on Buffalo’s communities of color. These sessions bring together residents and advocates to tackle systemic issues.

Masten District Stakeholder Meeting
The Masten District stakeholder meetings serve as a critical forum for residents, business owners, and community leaders to shape the future of Buffalo’s East Side. Often organized by the Masten District Council Member—currently Zeneta Everhart—these meetings facilitate direct dialogue between the community and city officials on high-priority issues like affordable housing, public safety, and neighborhood revitalization.

Re-Tree Planting Day
Roll up your sleeves and help plant the future of Buffalo! On Saturday, November 1, 2025, join the Buffalo Green Fund for a Community-Wide Tree Planting Day. Volunteers will be placed at various sites across the city to plant bare root trees in neighborhoods that need them most.
No experience? No problem! Training is available at the October 25th Tree Planting Workshop (strongly encouraged), and all tools and instructions will be provided on planting day.

Buffalo Green Fund Tree Planting Workshop
Join Buffalo Green Fund for a hands-on Tree Planting Workshop designed for anyone interested in helping with the November 1st Community Tree Planting, or simply looking to learn how to properly select, plant, and care for trees.
Led by experts in bare root tree planting and tree care, the workshop includes practical instruction and concludes with the planting of a tree at Forest Lawn. No experience necessary — just a willingness to learn and contribute to Buffalo’s greener future.
